The 2 good cards here in the pack are Surrakar Marauder and the Plated Geopede. I choose the geopede since there is another good black card in the pack - Vampire Hexmage. I would not want to be sending bad signals. Its been a while since I drafted mono-red, lets see if I can force the archetype.

There are some debates on the viability of this card in zen draft. Some say its slow for a very fast format and pros would rather be casting a surrakar or a geopede insted of this on turn 2.

Recap: So far I've drafted a shallow BR deck. I'm seriously lacking on playables. Hopefully Pack 2 will be good.   Pack 2 pick 1:

Electropotence is extremely slow in draft, but very good in sealed. I can't believe I'm picking a magma rift for my Pack 2 Pick 1.

here is the deck I played:

I went straight mono-red. Therefore I had to make use of some fillers like the hedron scrabbler. Triggering landfall will not be a problem since I am playing with 18 lands, and I have 2 Trusty Machetes to equip the scabbler to.

I played the deck to the finals but lost to manascrew. Yep, 18 lands and I lost to manascrew. The MTGO Shuffler can be cruel at times. 3 packs. not bad.
