Shards Block Booster Draft # 2
After a dismal GPT Bangkok 1 (9th on tiebreaks, I know, Bummer right?) I decided to get my booster draft fix late that night on MTGO in a 4-3-2-2 queue. With a vengeance of course lolz.
Pack 1 pick 1:
My Pick:
I can pick safe by getting the bolt, or Oring, but I'm feeling a little greedy tonight. Besides, this ultimatum has "I Win" written all over it.
Pack 1 pick 2:
My Pick:
Go 5-color by getting the necrogenesis or Tri-land? I think I'll stay with Grixis so I don't need to value fixing all that high.
Pack 1 pick 3:
My Pick:
Wow, this draft is going pretty well so far.
Pack 1 pick 4:
My Pick:
I am torn between the Screecher and the Panorama. Its just the 4th pack, I think I can still get some fixers.
Pack 1 pick 5:
My Pick:
I'm not entirely sure of this pick, pretty hard choice between the Scourge Devil and Cancel... What would you have picked?
Pack 1 pick 6:
My Pick:
I'm not playing any of these cards, I guess I'll take the Thoctar that I don't want to face. The Kathari is barely playable without Draggon Fodder or Dragscape Zombie.
Pack 1 pick 7:
My Pick:
Pack 1 pick 8:
My Pick:
Fixing my curve. Grixis is definitely open.

Pack 2 pick 1:
My Pick:
This will help me cast my Ultimatum.
Pack 2 pick 2:
My Pick:
Wow what an awful pack 2 for me. hmmm, a common is missing, the one who opened this might have taken a landcyler or an Armillary Sphere
Pack 2 pick 3:
My Pick:
Drag down or Sphere? Drag down for 3 doesn't seem too good. I'll take the sphere to help me with my bomb.
Pack 2 pick 4:
My Pick:
I'll definitely be able to play my ultimatum.
Pack 2 pick 5:

Mwahahahah

Another on-color Bomb! coolness.
Pack 3 pick 2:
My Pick:
A 2cc 3/2 flying? I'll take it! now lemme find a bordepost to make this card's ability active as early as turn 2...
Pack 3 pick 3:
My Pick:
It looks like I'm gonna be having a good early game after all.
Pack 3 pick 4:
My Pick:
I like this card a lot.
Pack 3 pick 5:
My Pick:
Pack 3 pick 6:
My Pick:
I can pick the Abomination, but this 4drop with a grim/esperblade, warp, dregscape bonus seems better.
Pack 3 pick 7:
My Pick:
There you are!
Pack 3 pick 8:
My Pick:
All I can say is wow, this is a 3-0 deck.
Pack 3 pick 9:
My Pick:
Borderpost or GAB? Since I have 3 blades already, I'll take the enabler.
Pack 3 pick 10:
My Pick:
I think this is an ok card, but haven't really tested it yet, and I doubt if this can make the cut right now, but who knows?

The only card that I wish I had but never got is the Sedraxis Alchemist. Like I said, I'm feeling greedy hehe.
With 3 landcyclers, 1 Armilliary Sphere, and a couple of borderposts, my mana was extremely smooth.
I was never able to draw Thraximundar...
I was only able to cast (showtime) the Ultimatum once, and I was winning already prior to casting it...damn...
The deck was rather fast, I initially thought I'll be playing control with my first 3 picks, but it turned out that ARB can make you go aggro with all the good 2 drops. Playing a Shard means you can play up to 3 of the 5 Blades. Isn't that cool?
I did go 3-0 by the way. hehe
